introduction to wearable technology

In this workshop participants will be introduced to wearable technology, special flexible and conductive material (conductive fabrics, threads, yarns and other soft and squishy materials), basic electronics and will develop a wearable project using the learned techniques.

During this workshop the kids will draw on pictures from the surrounded space and think how it could be transformed through light. After this activity they will be introduced to basic electronic and build some LED's lights to enhance their ideas.

During this activity the participants are invited to bring different plants and play with the sounds they generate. We are gonna build together a simple electronic circuit composed by an oscillator (to generate sound) and a variable resistance that creates sound.

This workshop introduces techniques for constructing fabric sensors and circuits. We are gonna use sewing needles and conductive thread instead of using soldering irons and wire.

During the workshop the participants will hack a piano toy and create the interface for the interaction.
