In this 3 days workshop participants will be introduced to wearable technology, special flexible and conductive material (conductive fabrics, threads, yarns and other soft and squishy materials), basic electronics and will develop a wearable project using the learned techniques.
Fist of all we will introduce this universe through examples and demonstrations of wearable projects. We will present techniques for flexible circuitry and develop together a small soft circuit.
The participants will also brainstorm and develop a working wearable piece addressing issues like: usability, function and meaning.
Last but not least, we will be raising this question throughout the workshop: why we would ever want to put electronics in our clothes in the first place?
Participants of all skill levels are welcome and encouraged to bring their own old clothes to repurpose.
This workshop can be adapted for special needs and durations.
